Some suggestions:

  • Presentations should be 20 min long, leaving 10 min for discussions. A good rule of thumb is 2 minutes per (content-filled) overhead.
  • For students (not just those taking it for credit), please talk to your advisor and/or mentoring committee about the paper selection, and encourage them to come to your talk and give you feedback.
  • Typically people present recent papers, but we also encourage classic papers, especially those relevant to important new results.
  • Please select your paper carefully. Consult a local expert if you are unsure about the quality of the paper. Pick something important and/or interesting. It doesn't have to be in the last few days of astro-ph.
  • Please send your title and web link to the paper at least a few days in advance to us for posting.
